Easy burfi surprise

Now here’s a cheat’s version of the authentic Milk burfi… 😉 .. Something that could be tried when you need to feed your guests and have no time for anything elaborate…With cooking time lesser than 15 mins. here is the recipe for Instant Milk burfi that is rich and sure to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Instant Milk burfi recipe:
Ingredients:
(Have taken 1cup=250 ml)

  • Ghee – 1/4 cup
  • Milk – 1/2 cup
  • Milk powder – 1 1/2 cups
  • Sugar – 1/4 cup
  • Pistachio slivered – For garnishing
  • Kesar essence – Few drops
  • Cardamom powder – Optional

Method:

  • Add ghee to a non-stick pan.
  • Maintaining the lowest heat, pour in milk to the ghee.
  • To this add milk powder little by little with constant whisking to avoid lumps.
  • Keep whisking till all the milk powder is well incorporated in the ghee-milk base.
  • At this stage add sugar.
  • Continue stirring till all the sugar is dissolved and the burfi starts leaving the sides of the pan.
  • Add Kewra essence or cardamom powder if using, at this point.
  • Once the entire burfi starts separating as a mass from the base and sides of the pan, transfer to a greased tin.
  • Level the surface and garnish with slivered pistachio.
  • Let cool at least for a couple of hours before cutting into squares.

Note:

  • The burfi should cool completely before cutting pieces out of it.
